![]() Extras: This rifle does not include anything extra.Markings: There are no standout or exciting markings on this rifle.Action Type: Gas-Operated Short-Stroke Rotating-Bolt.Iver Johnson acquired Universal Firearms in 1983, and they moved their manufacturing plant to Jacksonville, Arkansas - this rifle has that stamped on the receiver bridge, making it a later-production carbine. This project M1 carbine includes a metal perforated heatshield and one 10-round magazine. The barrel measures 18-inches in length and includes its original front and rear sights - the bore is bright and shiny with good rifling and minor fouling along the landings - it would twist lead accurately. The action is nearly complete, but the bolt is missing its firing pin (note: the firing pin, firing pin spring, and ejector plunger/spring are included in this package). The metalwork is all original, and the finish is entirely intact - there are some surface rust splotches along the length of the barrel, but nothing major to concern yourself with. It’s in good condition for what it is but does have a few things to note. You are considering a vintage 1980s Universal M1 Carbine Project Rifle.
